The problem of evil is brought up by many skeptics and usually you’ll hear them mention a tragedy or injustice that is taking place somewhere in the world, whether a genocide or mass starvation. On this viewpoint evil is something that is out there in the world. Often we don’t think about the evil that resides within our own heart. A better question would be: what do I think about the evil within me? What do I make of how God treats me in light of that evil?
The difficulty in answering these questions leads one to a more sound, and favorable, understanding of God rather than away from Him in rebellion.
